Not too long ago, I was looking for the civilization and rating overlay used by some players and casters. After some searching and with the help of some friendly souls, I managed to find two of them.

The Classic

I am calling this one ‘classic’ because it is the first one I noticed. As far as I can tell, it was created by polskafan, simonsan, and HeavenlyChorus, who published it on GitHub.

It will show you:

• Player names
• Current MMR rank
• Win rate
• # of games won and lost
• Each player’s unique unit based on their civilization

It is very easy to set up, and they provide detailed instructions, how to do it. To make it work, you will need your Steam ID or your aoe2.net profile ID.

Once you are done, you should get something like this:

The Alternative

This one shows the same information, plus:

• Maximum MMR
• Average MMR
• Civilization icon of current civ
• Civilization history for the last 5 games
• Map name
• Server name
• Player’s country flag

Conclusion

Personally, I prefer the ‘alternative’ one because it provides more information at a glance. However, I am not sure if it works for people playing AoE2:DE via the Microsoft Store instead of Steam. Perhaps someone can let me know.
